Turnover Tuesdays - Killing it At Walgreen's!

For those who are not familiar, I started a series a while back called Turnover Tuesdays. Every Tuesday I like to highlight one item that I have resold. This will include profitable and non profitable sales. I hope that there is always something to learn.

The great thing about the holidays is that stores that have no business selling toys start selling toys.  It could be your local supermarket (many Krogers had tons of moneymaking deals on toys) or your local pharmacy like Walgreen's for me.

That's great for resellers since Walgreen's doesn't really know how to price toys correctly.  Sometimes it means that you pay far too much for a toy (regular consumer) and sometimes it mean you find hidden gems that should be much more expensive (reseller).

The best part was that the price of the toys kept dropping and the resell value kept increasing!

The Sale - Buy 2 Get 1 Free

Walgreen's started with a sale of buy 2 toys at 6.99 each and get a third toy free.  That came out to $4.66 per toy when you buy 3.

I bought a bunch at this point.  Probably only about $200 worth.  Here are some examples.

Then Walgreens started giving out Jingle Cash.  Spend $50 get a coupon for $10 when you spend $30 next time.  Pfft!  Easy money!  I got 7 (and used 7) of those!

Then on Sunday  I walked in and they had the same sale with the jingle cash except it was buy 2 get 2 free and Jingle cash.  I ended up paying less than $3 a toy for items that are selling for $13 on Amazon!

I don't have a picture from Inventory Lab for this one since they haven't sold yet (just getting to Amazon now).

Keep in mind today (12/15) is the last day to earn Jingle Cash.  You can earn it and then you use it on the next purchase but be aware that I spent money in Walgreen's this morning and no coupon came out.  The cashier said that the promotion hasn't really been working the last couple of days.

I just showed you the small stuff.

Be aware that there are items that I bought for $5.99 and $9.99 (both prices before my Jingle Cash coupons) that sold quickly for $34.99.  There is something I bought today for $19.99, according to the FBA app, I should earn $36 after fees and it's ranked 3,000 in toys (that's incredible if you don't know).

Here is the takehome:  It may be too late for the holiday season to get those toys in from Walgreen's but get out of your comfort zone!  Go to stores you don't normally go to!  Start scanning!  You might find some gems where no one is looking.  Those can be the best ones to sell. It's time consuming at first, but the next time you go, you will know exactly where to head.
