Dell Gift Cards and American Express Offers for You - $18.50-$75 per American Express Card

Disclaimer: I receive a referral commission for the following link(s) and I greatly appreciate supporting the site: Mr. Rebates, Top Cashback and Discover

American Express has a wonderful offer for Dell for $100 off a $599 purchase.  It is no longer available, but I'm sure many of you still have it unused in your accounts.

When I first wrote about it, I said that the Dell Gift Card route should be profitable, but that Dell charges taxes so it kills the profitability (it was $42 in taxes for me).

Well, it turns out that this isn't entirely true.  While Dell shows that they charge taxes, they don't actually charge the tax.  You pay $600 for $600 of gift cards.  Oh boy!  Now, we have something!

We know you can buy $600 of Gift Cards for $500 which is purchasing the gift cards for 83.33%.

What can you sell them for?

You can sell them to CardCash for 85% or Abc Gift Card (same company) for 85% for a physical gift card.  That's a gain of 1.66%  or $10 per American Express offer.  You also earn credit card points which are worth at least $5 (1% of $500) so that bumps it up to $15 per American Express offer.

It gets better.

Let's get into Shopping Portals:

Let's start with the lowest: Mr. Rebates

Mr. Rebates is offering 1% cashback at Dell without restrictions on purchasing gift cards. While the purchase did track, it only tracked at $3.50 instead of $6.00.  I can assure you I bought $600 of gift cards and not $350.  I'll have to submit a claim.

Ok, let's move on to second best: Top Cashback

Top Cashback  is offering 2% cashback at Dell without restrictions on purchasing gift cards. While the purchase did track, it only tracked at $7.00 instead of $12.00, still a very nice little bonus.

Something is a little off from the Dell tracking.

Ok, then we go for the big winner and also the most riskiest: Discover Deals

Discover Deals is offering 5% cashback at Dell and they exclude gift card purchases.

Interestingly, not only did the purchase track, it tracked at 5% of $600 ($30).

Now that's a big deal, especially if you are enrolled in the Discover Double Cashback promotion, your $30 turns into $60 at the end of 13 statements!

If you don't have a Discover Card, you can use my referral link or anyone else's since it is the only way to earn $50 (doubled after the 13th statement) after your first purchase.

If you use Mr. Rebates, you may earn $18.50 per American Express card, if you use Top Cashback you may earn $22 per American Express card and if you use Discover Deals, you may earn $45 or $75 per American Express card.

Using Discover Deals is pretty risky here.  You aren't using a Discover card and gift cards are specifically excluded from cashback.  If things don't track, it won't be added manually.  In addition, even if they do track, the cashback might get clawed back.

Please keep in mind that a lot of people may be doing this and prices may go down and possibly go down steeply so understand the risks.  You also have to account for postage fees when sending in your gift cards.

Also, the American Express offer expires on 9/15 so this is a time sensitive deal.
